Aiming for an incredible fifth consecutive race win when lining up at Doomben this weekend, Srikandi is clear favourite for success in betting markets to claim victory in the 2014 Moreton Stakes at current $2.60 odds, ahead of Plucky Belle and Chintz; currently sharing the second line of betting at generous $7 odds.

Will Srikandi continue her incredible run of form in the 2014 Moreton Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Platinum Rocker ($7.50)

Claiming an impressive total of eight wins and four places from just 14 competitive race starts to date, West Australian raider Platinum Rocker offers punters arguably the best value for money in betting markets for success in the 2013 Moreton Stakes at current $7.50 odds. A standout performer over the 2013 spring, the Love A Dane mare won both the Listed Birthday Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) before finishing an unlucky second in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) on November 23rd. Finishing third after producing an excellent turn of foot in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) on the Gold Coast last time out, trainer Simon Miller is confident his stable’s star will be far better for the first off performance, and will be particularly difficult to beat from the ideal barrier 6.

2nd

Srikandi ($2.60)

Securing an incredible career start of five wins and one second from her six competitive starts to date, Srikandi is a great chance of securing a fifth consecutive victory at Doomben this weekend, but will have to overcome the wide and awkward barrier 14 if to do so. Stepping up to the 1350 running distance for the first-time, the Dubawi filly has been confirmed to be partnered by regular jockey Glen Boss. Trainer Ciaron Maher has been happy with the way Srikandi has settled into the Queensland way of going since arriving three weeks ago, and is expecting another polished performance from the exciting three-year-old in the 2014 Moreton Stakes.

3rd

Plucky Belle ($7)

Having returned to racing in great touch this season, Plucky Belle is more than worth a wager at current $7 odds to win the 2014 Moreton Stakes, or $2.50 to run a place. Unlucky to finish second when blocked for a run twice and squeezed out in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) first-up, the Mossman mare overcame poor run position to finish a fighting fourth amongst talented company in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) on April 19th before once again finishing just in the red of Aerobatics when second in the Group 3 Darley Crown (1300m) last time out. Charged with leaving from the wide barrier 15, trainer Peter Moody is confident talented jockey Luke Nolen will find a clear racing line for Plucky Belle this weekend.
